Swapping in the bottomless portafilter took less than a minute, and the 2-in-1 design means I can switch back to the pods when I'm in a rush. Watching the espresso flow through the open bottom is oddly satisfying, and it's made dialing in my grind so much easier.
I wasn't sure the 40mm portafilter would make that much of a difference, but it honestly does — the extra surface area alone changes how the puck sits. The upgrade took me about ten minutes with no tools, and now I'm pulling shots with way less mess than the pod setup.
Swapped out the pod assembly in under five minutes and the 40mm bottomless portafilter fits snug without any wiggle. Brews a noticeably cleaner shot than the pods ever did, though it does take a bit of dialing in. Happy I grabbed this kit.
