58mm Basket for E.S.E Pods

This 58mm basket will fit E.S.E. pods from Illy or Lavazza, among others, and integrates into your Flair 58 or 58x.

Going on holiday with your Flair 58 but would rather leave the grinder at home, or in between grinders at the moment? Looking for an emergency stash of coffee that keeps for months, even years? Need convenience coffee every once in a while when you’re rushed? ESE Pods from Illy, Lavazza, Kimbo, Bristot or Miscela d’Oro to name several purveyors are an alternative to freshly ground coffee when you need it in a pinch!

Sold in single serving, nitrogen flushed, foil wrappers, they can be relied upon to stay fresh for months or longer. Tear open the foil, drop a paper sachet into this specially designed for Pods basket, and get brewing! As these are single servings, we recommend stopping at a yield of around 20-24 grams of espresso, or half the volume of a full pull. Need a double? We suggest to pull two separate shots rather than ‘doubling up’ the sachets.

To use, center ESE Pod (paper sachet) in the bottom of the basket and lock into the 58 brew head--do not use the puck screen with pods, there will not be enough head space in the basket for both. Best results are usually found by going straight to a pressure of between 6-8 BAR, without pre-infusion. We recommend using the Pod baskets in spouted portafilters as you might have some water bypassing the puck causing spritzing.
